Join local interdisciplinary artist, Nathan Eugene Carson, for a creative experience of gestured mark-making. During this workshop, participants will use improvisation, sound, and movement to explore mark-making and drawing, inspired by Roger Mooking: SoundBites.
In addition, this workshop is strongly tied to Nathan’s art practice where his paintings and mixed media works on paper explore figures, animals, and other hybrid creatures of his personal experiences and imagination. Richly pigmented and textured surfaces layer together narratives that integrate themes of Black identity, autobiographical memories, and elements of charged symbolism.
Nathan Eugene Carson received a Bachelor of Fine Art from OCAD University. His drawings and paintings have been presented across Canada at the Drake Hotel, Toronto; Oswold Gallery, Hamilton; Carnegie Gallery, Dundas; and the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto.
