Get ready for a day filled with family fun at the Art Gallery of Hamilton’s 110th anniversary celebration!
Join us in the Fischer Gallery for hands-on art-making inspired by the new exhibition by Radha S. Menon. Together, let’s create musical instruments, inspired by the traditional South Asian Ghungroo anklets. Ghungroo (also known as ‘Ghungur’ in Bangla or ‘Ghungru’ / ‘Ghungroo’ in Urdu and Hindi) is a traditional musical anklet tied to the feet of classical South Asian dancers. The small metal bells draw special attention to the elegant footwork of the dancer while they perform.
Don’t miss a special performance by My Friend Christopher and refreshments. Drop in anytime between 1 – 3 pm. All are welcome!
AGH Members: Free
Non Members: $5.00 per family (2 adults and up to 4 children.
