Pagtitipon: An Art and History Gathering is for kids (5-11 years old) and for women- and femme-identifying folks from the Filipina/x/o Hamilton community.
This gathering is for us to reimagine communities, inclusion, and justice in the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond. Side by side, kids will have an opportunity to join an art activity while the adults may want to submit an entry to the Women Writing Women event, to build the Filipina/x/o archives in the Hamilton Public Library. This is a self-directed letter writing to women in the future or their future selves on the said theme.
Before this event begins, participants will have the opportunity to join a FREE tour of the Gallery at 6:30 pm.
This art workshop is presented by the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion and Mariam Assefa Fund through the #MahalagaKa Campaign in the COVID-19 pandemic from the Filipinas of HamOnt, a fiscally-sponsored collective by the YWCA Hamilton.
Before this event begins, participants will have the opportunity to join a tour of the Gallery.
