Last year brought many firsts to the Art Gallery of Hamilton, including our first-ever online Gala! The AGH Dream: A Virtual Gala Experience was a special online video presentation featuring behind-the-scenes gallery footage, video performances by talented musical acts, and access to our ever-popular annual Gala auction. Among the acts gracing our event with their presence was Hamilton’s own Terra Lightfoot.
Presented here for the first time since the Gala, enjoy this special behind-the-scenes performance by the Juno and Polaris-nominated songwriter, singing and strumming within the walls of the Gallery itself.
Presenting this special performance here in the AGH Magazine, we are very excited to announce Terra’s guest appearance at next week’s Free Thursday event. Does singing in a mostly empty Art Gallery change the delivery of a song? Does it change its meaning? Bring your questions to this intimate Zoom conversation with one our city’s proudest musical exports.
Please note that at the time of this publication, the AGH is temporarily closed. With Hamilton shifting into the Red Zone reopening framework, the Gallery will officially reopen to the public on Saturday, March 20 with the opening of Esmaa Mohamoud: To Play in the Face of Certain Defeat. Please visit our COVID-19 Guidelines page for complete details on the protocols and restrictions in place, and stay tuned for all virtual and in-person programming announcements.
