This past weekend we had the honour of welcoming friends, supporters, colleagues and artists to the AGH for our annual fundraising Gala: AGH Splash. It was an evening drenched in fun that directly supported our programs, education, and research initiatives.
“Thank you so much to everyone that attended our sold out 64th AGH Gala on Saturday. An event of this scale involves the support of many people. I especially wanted to thank our guests, sponsors, volunteers, donors and staff for making the AGH Splash such a huge success.” – Shelley Falconer, AGH President & CEO
The “Splash” gala also marked the closing of our major exhibition Water Works that had been on view since February 10, 2018. Through works in a variety of media, Water Works aimed to explore how we view and interact with water, and raised awareness of the importance of conserving clean water for future generations. With water as the key theme for the event, it enabled the Gallery to raise awareness about important environmental issues, like water crises and pollution, through the arts. This important message was highlighted by special guest speaker, Senator Patricia Bovey.
Later in the evening, we enjoyed a unique and intimate performance by Juno nominated Hannah Georgas as well as Iskwé. Both performances were spectacular and they brought the Gallery to life with their stunning voices outside in our beautiful Sculpture Garden.
Please enjoy this selection of photos from the event and we look forward to welcoming you all back again next year!
The AGH Splash Gala was presented by LIUNA and sponsored by CanForge, Effort Trust, and RBC.
